Comments & kudos

Meeting conducted by Barbara Wyckoff“Barbara’s advice was solid and right on target. The trust we all developed with her was tremendous.”

“I had been through four strategic and board planning sessions prior to Barbara’s. Hers was by far the best.”

“Barbara helped monitor the program, synthesize and discuss lessons learned, and bounce ideas around. She managed the relationship between the Ford Foundation and the grantees with diplomacy, tact, and respect for all parties. She’s terrific!”

“We would like to thank deeply Ms. Barbara Wyckoff for her professional guidance and facilitation throughout this project year. We are indeed indebted to her for her insight, leadership and facilitation skills.”

“Every once in a while you need someone to help you reestablish contact with your core, test it for “firmness,” and use it as the launching pad for the next part of the adventure. Barbara was that someone for us. She gave our staff the skills to identify their strengths, fit the task to the person, and honor each other. She gave our board the freedom to dream and the guidance to create a strategy to realize their vision of health for our community and forestlands.”

Meeting conducted by Barbara Wyckoff for the National Network of Forest Practitioners“Barbara took a diverse group of people who barely knew each other and turned us into a cohesive planning group with a single goal and the determination to accomplish that goal.”

“Barbara made us do an indicators matrix right at the beginning. We resisted and resented having to spend two days on this, given that everyone is a volunteer. But here we are, four years later, still using that matrix. Now, when something isn’t working, we look at the matrix and ask ourselves, ‘Do we change the objective or do we find another way to meet it?’ It has helped us to adapt. Every time we have an argument, we drag that matrix out.”

“Barbara helped me see my strengths and create niches that would allow Nils and me to work well together. I have a lot of knowledge of the community; Nils’s background is in nonprofits and academia. Barbara took these strengths and helped us to develop an organization around them.”
